I have two of these now and they work well in my tower system. I needed to replace some drives that were a bit slow and also wanted to switch from five drives to two drives. This 18T drive replaces four smaller drives and is faster. I now have two of these 18T drives. I have a boot, root, home drive, and this 18T is used for file storage and home drive backup. I have a second 18T drive in the tower that can be powered up and mirrored to the first 18T drive on regular occasions as an emergency backup.

I bought two of these drives to backup data from a server, and I can say that they are fast, and not terribly noisy. They have great capacity for the money and I definitely recommend them. Although this has NOTHING to do with the manufacturer of this drive, I really wish that manufacturers would advertise the proper capacity of hard drives. The formatted capacity is based on 1000 instead of 1024 as is used in computers, so you will get 16.3TB out of this 18TB drive. Keep this in mind when planning capacity.
